Battlefield Live - Brighton, West Sussex
Battlefield Live Brighton is based at the foot of the South Downs in West Sussex on a 50-acre site of woodland, and is just a short 10 minute drive from Brighton.
The Games
To provide a starting point for your activities we have a range of themed games and also large areas of woodland for general flag to flag games that include Plane Crash, Stockade – Attack and Defend, The Bridge, The Barricade Field, and Rocket Launcher.
Plane Crash

A plane has dramatically crashed in the woods, the object of the game is to
secure the
plane and to retrieve the lethal payload and then deliver it into your
opponent's base.
Stockade – Attack and Defend

Teams take turns attacking the stockade and whoever can defend it for the longest wins the game.
The Bridge

This is a centre flag game, where teams start at opposite ends of the field, in the centre of the field is a ravine with a bridge over it. In the middle of the bridge is the flag. The object of the game is to win the flag and take it into your opponent's base.
The Barricade Field

The game starts with each team having a flag secured in their base. The object of the game is to protect your flag and to attack your opponent's base and steal their flag and return it to your base.
Rocket Launcher

Each team starts at opposite ends of the field. In the centre of the field is
a battery pack for the rocket launcher. Teams need to locate the battery pack
and get it to the rocket launcher pad. Using the battery pack you activate the
rocket launcher and attempt to destroy the enemy base.
Due to the use of pyrotechnics this game is only available to over 18's and
large groups.
Flag to Flag Woodland

We have large areas of natural open woodland for expansive flag to flag gaming.
Battlefield Live, Littlehampton, West Sussex
Battlefield Live Littlehampton is based on the south coast at Climping near Littlehampton, West Sussex on our own privately owned 60-acre site of woodland and open farmland.
The Games
In order to provide a starting framework for your activities we have developed a number of game formats with easy to understand rules. In addition we are always pleased to customise rules should you have a favourite format used elsewhere or perhaps a new format you have thought up yourselves. Most games run for 20 to 30 mins.
1st Wood
Game ‘Capture the Flag’ - completely natural, no buildings

Ideally for the beginner, here the wood used is 100 metres long and 40 metres wide, the idea of the game being that you have to get through the wood to the oppositions base and steal their flag and return successfully to your base. Resurrections are allowed, if you are eliminated within the first 5 to 10 minutes you wait at your base until you are resurrected.
2nd Wood
Game ‘The Village’ – contains look out towers, a tree house, small buildings,
abandoned vehicles

Still capture the Flag but this time the area is 50 metres square and there is a base at each end, and you have to battle your way through village to capture the oppositions flag and return it to your base. This is a good wood to use pyrotechnics including smoke bombs, paint ball grenades and thunder flashes (over 18’s only). Again resurrections are allowed.
3rd Wood
Game ‘Prisoner of War’ - with a prison built in the middle of the field

This wood is again 100 metres by 50 metres and each team starts from their own end, the idea of the game is to capture opposition team members and once caught they have to wait in the prison which is in the centre of the field, they can be tagged out of the prison by a fellow team member, and they are then allowed to re-enter the game from their respective end. After 30 minutes the team with the most prisoners wins. Ideal for inclusion into a full days play.
4th Wood
Game ‘The General Game’ - our largest wood at 5 acres

This field is 200m by 100m, with fairly dense woodland. This game is very similar to Capture the Flag, but only your nominated General can take the flag, and thus they will need to be protected by the rest of the team. Resurrections rules apply.
1st Field
Game ‘Attack and Defend the Castle' – with castle, tunnels and trenches

This field is 40m by 50m and contains a large castle at one end with towers and battlements and is surrounded by a moat, plus there are also tunnels and trenches across the field. The idea of this game is that one team start inside the castle and the other team at the opposite end of the field; the attacking team must then attack the castle and steal the flag.

The Games
We
have 16 separate playing areas, 10 of which are in continuous woodland where we
play a variety of games based around one or two flags.
Some of the games have a focal point in a clearing in the woodland such as "The
Swamp", "The Village" and "The Fort".
Others are based in open areas such as "The Mounds", "Run the Gauntlet" and our
own version of "Speedball" where for 5 minutes the paint flies thick and fast!
The Food!
For groups of 20 or more we can provide a full English roast dinner.
